What is GLISH?
GLISH stands for Great Lolita International Scavenger Hunt. It is a week-long scavenger hunt for Lolitas where participants work with their team to ‘collect’ photos to complete the challenges.
When is it held?
The scavenger hunt will take place from August 29th to September 5th.
Is there a cost to participate?
This is a free event. However, one of our challenges will be donating $5. In order to donate to complete the challenge, you will need to comment with your team name. Participants and spectators are free to donate more to support the charities that have been chosen for this event. Please see our Donate page for more information.
How do I register?
Fill out the form on the Registration page. You will be required to submit a link to a photo of yourself in Lolita. Please make the photo 100x100 pixels to fit on our Teams page and be a .jpeg, .gif, or .png format. Registration ends on August 25th.
How are teams formed?
Each team will consist of 10 people. Participants can register singly or build a team of friends up to 2-6 people and register them together (please see the registration page for information on how to register a team). Since the scavenger hunt is meant to build connections across communities, a pre-formed team is capped at 6 people. All participants will be matched with other Lolitas to form a 10 person team.
How does the scavenger hunt work?
On August 29th the challenge list will be posted. Participants will work together with their team to complete as many challenges as possible by September 5th. Challenges are completed by taking a photo according to the specifics of the challenge. Each team member must complete at least two challenges. Each completed challenge is worth a certain number of points. The team that achieves the most points will be declared our winner. If there is a tie, then the highest scoring teams will be judged based on the creativity of their submissions.
What will the challenges be like?
The challenges are Lolita related and participants should be wearing Lolita in the submitted photos. The challenge list will be posted and emailed on August 29th.
How are photos submitted?
Each team will create an Instagram account for their team. Photo entries should be posted to the Instagram account with the challenge number and #glish #teamname.
Are there any other rules?
Have fun! Also, you are responsible for yourself when participating in the scavenger hunt. Please be safe, do not break the law, and be kind to participants and others while scavenging. And have fun!
